About me
Hello there, I'm Wout
skydiver, coach, former entrepreneur, and someone who finds purpose in motion.
At 17, just six months into a Commercial Engineering degree, I realized the academic path wasn’t for me. I left school and joined my father’s company, where we made parts for gas fireplaces. From within that business, I began developing my own product — a modern outdoor gas fireplace — and over time, that idea grew into Sunwood, an international brand sold in over 15 countries.
At its peak, Sunwood had a small but dedicated team of six, and we shipped thousands of fireplaces around the world. But despite the success, I came to realize that my passion didn’t live in supply chains or spreadsheets — it lived in movement, in adventure, and in helping others unlock the same.
In 2024, I sold Sunwood and started a new chapter, one built around skydiving, coaching, and exploring the outdoors.
These days, I spend most of my time in the sky — coaching FreeFly, helping beginners build confidence under canopy, or guiding people through their first tandem jumps. I’ve also worked winters as a certified ski instructor in Austria, and find flow through paragliding, mountaineering, and bouldering.
What drives me is more than adrenaline — it’s growth. Whether it’s helping someone stand on the edge of fear and take that leap, or guiding them through the technical side of flight, my purpose is rooted in teaching and progression — for others and for myself.

Other Projects & Freelance Work
Outside of skydiving, I still enjoy using my technical skills for freelance work in 3D CAD design, particularly in SolidWorks. I also run a small webshop called SDM Parts, where I sell spare parts for gas fireplaces — a nod to where my journey in product design and business began.
